Match Preview

Back in the top flight after a four-year absence, newly-promoted Fulham host a Crystal Palace side that became the first Premier League (PL) team to survive the drop after losing the first seven games of a campaign last season.
The two sides finished just 12 places apart in the football pyramid last season, meaning that this one will be very difficult to predict. Fulham manager Slaviša Jokanović has strengthened his team with a sizeable number of summer acquisitions; most notably record signing Jean Michael Seri and ex-Chelsea man Andre Schurrle.
For Palace, Cheikhou Kouyaté, Max Meyer, and Jordon Mutch have all arrived to bolster the midfield, but the last time Palace tasted victory at this ground was back in 1985/86 (2-0). This will be only the fifth-ever top-flight meeting between the sides, and each of the last three have seen Fulham score at least twice.
Fulham have won three of their last four home games against their opponents (W3, D1). Overall, the hosts have 16 wins to Palace’s ten in their last 40 league meetings. Palace sides, meanwhile, have won only three times at Craven Cottage in 22 attempts.
Players to watch: Andre Schurrle could be a danger to Palace if he can emulate his performances from his first (2013/14) PL season (eight goals/30 appearances).
As ever, Wilfred Zaha will be the driving force in attack for the visitors, with the Ivorian resisting the attentions of other clubs.
Stat attack: Fulham are winless in their last five pre-season games (D2, L3) while Palace have won five of their last six (W5, D1).
Fulham are unbeaten in seven of their last eight league games against Crystal Palace (W5, D2, L1).
Four of the last six meetings between these two sides have seen over 2.5 goals scored.
